The Travel Almanac

The Travel Almanac explores the topics of traveling and temporary habitation from the personal
perspectives of innovative figures in the fashion, music, art, and film worlds. Addressing an increasingly mobilized creative community, it is the first publication of its kind to speak to this sophisticated generation of travelers. The plurality of this community inspires the magazine to focus on individual’s personal experiences and the effects of travel on their lives and work.

In the current issue of The Travel Almanac, acclaimed artist and former fashion designer Helmut Lang shares some of his first memories of traveling as a young adult in Austria, and in addition presents visual material from his “Selective Memory Series.” More contributions by Juliette Lewis, Alek Wek, Bernard Sumner, Ebba Durstewitz, Will Oldham, Kazu Makino & Bernhard Wilhelm.

The Travel Almanac retails at £10.45 an issue which is a very hefty price to buy for a magazine. It has very striking photography with a simple clean layout. Type is simplistic and easily readable.

From just looking I can tell that the magazine is made from a thick stock which could be the reason for the price. However I cannot judge as the content does look very attractive! Above you can see what the current issue is about so you can get a good idea of the sort of content they have.
I am not familiar with any of the names mentioned and the main interview is indeed about travelling, in this case about Helmut Lang's first travel experiences.

Personally this isn't the sort of magazine I would like to work for. However the magazine is executed to such a professional level that I really admire.
